Financial Classification Using an Artificial Immune System

چکیده
Recent years have seen a dramatic increase in the application of biologically-inspired algorithms to business problems. Applications of neural networks and evolutionary algorithms have become common. However, as yet there have been few applications of artificial immune systems (AIS), algorithms that are inspired by the workings of the natural immune system. The natural immune system can be considered as a distributed, self-organizing, classification system that operates in a dynamic environment. The mechanisms of natural immune systems, including their ability to distinguish between self and non-self, provides a rich metaphorical inspiration for the design of patternrecognition algorithms. This chapter introduces AIS and provides an example of how an immune algorithm can be used to develop a classification system for predicting IDEA GROUP PUBLISHING This paper appears in the book, Business Applications and Computational Intelligence edited by Kevin E. Semantic Preserving Data Reduction using Artificial Immune Systems
Artificial Immune Systems (AIS) can be defined as soft computing systems inspired by immune system of vertebrates. Immune system is an adaptive pattern recognition system. AIS have been used in pattern recognition, machine learning, optimization and clustering. Feature reduction refers to the problem of selecting those input features that are most predictive of a given outcome; a problem encoun...
متن کاملThe application of data mining techniques in manipulated financial statement classification: The case of turkey
Predicting financially false statements to detect frauds in companies has an increasing trend in recent studies. The manipulations in financial statements can be discovered by auditors when related financial records and indicators are analyzed in depth together with the experience of auditors in order to create knowledge to develop a decision support system to classify firms. Auditors may annot...

متن کاملArtificial Immune System for Single Machine Scheduling and Batching Problem in Supply Chain
This paper addresses a production and outbound distribution scheduling problem in which a set of jobs have to be process on a single machine for delivery to customers or to other machines for further processing. We assume that there is a sufficient number of vehicles and the delivery costs is independent of batch size but it is dependent on each trip. In this paper, we present an Artificial Imm...
